About the Workshop

Learn how to identify laboratory-grown diamonds with my signature practical workshop. After this day, you will never make a buying mistake again. 

Julia Griffith FGA DGA EG will lead you through her 7-step guide to identification. Tthis logical, step-by-step process covers observation and testing using equipment accessible to most jewellery professionals. This day contains a series of lectures and hands-on sessions. Over 50 laboratory-grown diamonds are available to view, which exhibit the full range of possible identification features. Course is CPD accredited.

  • Learn everything you need to know so you can test and identify laboratory-grown diamonds.
  • 50+ laboratory-grown diamonds showing vast range of features.
  • Excellent peer-tutor interaction with a maximum of 10 other participants.
  • Standard gemmological equipment available on loan for the day.

Topics will include: Observation, magnetism, UV reactions, crossed polarised filters (CPF), screening equipment, testing melee and discussions on advanced equipment. Equipment includes; Dr Watson by Yehuda, Presidium SDS II, Jewellery Inspector by Gemetrix, and Gemetrix StrainView.
