The Jewellery Inspector is an excellent gemmological tool for assessing UV reactions. Designed to use with a smart phone, this equipment will reveal the most subtle fluorescence and phosphorescence from materials. The accompanying app allows you to record the longwave (LW) and shortwave (SW) UV effects, and compare them side-by-side. The base of the unit provides a perfectly dark environment for assessing UV effects of both loose and mounted gems.
This tool is particulary useful for the assessment and separation of natural diamonds and laboratory-grown diamonds.
